If you have been wanting to stop smoking, Thursday, Nov. 18 is your day to do just that. Millions of people across the nation will take part in the Great American Smokeout, a day where tobacco users are encouraged to go 24 hours without smoking a cigarette.
BIG SPRING – Big Spring State Hospital patients need outfits to keep themselves warm during the cool fall weather and the approaching winter season.
Jackets, coats, jeans and men’s shoes are the biggest need right now, said Melissa Adams, Big Spring State Hospital Program Coordinator.Â
Big Spring State Hospital patients often arrive at the hospital with one set of clothing. The hospital depends on the community for donations of gently worn clothing for the patients, Adams said.
Funeral services for Sarah Frances Jones, 80, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jerry Payne and Rev. Don Casper officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Taylor Cemetery near Lampasas. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Jones died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
