National WASP Museum Board Member Bill Johnson recently represented the museum at the 40th annual National Stearman Fly-in at the Galesburg, Ill., Municipal Airport. Bill joined new friends of the museum, Marie and Pete Spear, there to enjoy flying in their vintage Stearman and marvel at the other 138 WWII biplanes.
Along with the Spears, Bill and the other enthusiasts toured the flight line, took airplane rides and enjoyed performances by pilots of this classic that have served in roles from military trainer to aerial applicator to show aircraft since 1934.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 42 calls for service, issued three citations and made three arrests on Oct. 13, 2011.
The SPD received 20, 911 calls.

⢠Christopher Hayes, 34 â Possession of a controlled substance.
⢠Merced Flores, 29 â Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had 14 calls for service, served one civil paper and made no arrests on Oct. 13, 2011.

This month Region 14 Education Service Center Head Start and others like it across the country will join together to celebrate and strengthen the nationâs awareness of the Head Start Program.
TSTC Sweetwater recently announced a series of culinary classes for the community.
"A Tour of Italy: Learn the Art of Italian Cuisineâ is a series of four classes that will take place on Monday evenings from 6-9:30 p.m. The classes will meet on Monday, Nov. 7, 14, 28 and Dec. 5 in Room 127 of the Temple Dickson building at TSTC Sweetwater. Participants can enroll in just one class or all four. Each class costs $50 and will be taught by TSTC Sweetwater chefs.
Margaret Evelyn Hiscock Adams, 86, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at her home.
