Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED) has a redesigned website that went live last Friday. The new website (with information still under construction) will better represent the community and SEED’s efforts in business expansion and retention. It is much easier to navigate, according to SEED staff members and allows the SEED staff to keep it updated in house. "The new website, along with social media connections, will assist us in making sure our community and our customers are aware of the progress Sweetwater is experiencing," said SEED Executive Director Ken Becker.
Halloween is just around the corner…and the folks at WTU Retail Energy have their costumes ready and are honing their survival skills against zombies as they tune in one of their favorite shows, AMC’s The Walking Dead. So they put our heads together, literally picking them off the floor, to help pass on some basic survival skills, in case of a zombie apocalypse.
First, you’ll need to recognize said creatures. Then, you’ll need to spot any subtle infiltrations by them.

Sweetwater wraps up its season Friday when it hosts Brownwood at Mustang Bowl. Or does it? Coach Craig Slaughter sure hopes that’s not the case.
Because for the first time in Slaughter’s three-year tenure, his team is playing for a trip to the playoffs.
Sweetwater (4-5 season, 1-2 district) can also knock Brownwood (5-3, 1-1) com-pletely out of the playoff picture with a win, assuming Wylie also wins Friday over Snyder. The Bulldogs and Tigers are both 2-0 in District 5-3A.
Sweetwater’s sub-varsity teams lost to Abilene Wylie in season-ending volleyball matches here Tuesday.
The junior varsity (2-6, 16-14) lost to Wylie 14-25, 10-25 in its final match while the freshmen (3-5, 19-6) fell 11-25, 25-18, 15-25.
