The Sweetwater Music Festival highlighted Christian music on Wednesday night, with one venue being held at the First Baptist Church. Featured in the evening were the FBC KidX Children's Choir, led by director Jenny Doggett. Also performing were the Greater Zion Choir directed by Doris Jackson. The evening concluded with the FBC men's quartet "Papa Gene and Da Boys" which included Gene Elston, Glen Bedgood, Jonathan Jones and Ted Sands (shown).
A total of 13 indictments were handed down by the Nolan County Grand Jury on Tuesday, with seven of those indictments sealed.
Lucas Anderson Turner was indicted for indecency with a child by contact, a second degree felony. Court papers state that the child was younger than 17 years of age. The date of offense was March 7, 2011. His bond was set at $12,000.
Dr. Gilbert Carreon, DDS, and his employees were at the J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center to perform free dental screenings on Pre-Kindergarten students on Wednesday. The Sweetwater Kiwanis Club sponsored the event and members were also on hand to give the children new toothbrushes and toothpaste. The children watched a video on how to brush their teeth before their screening. Shown is Dr. Carreon giving a dental screening. Kiwanis President Bill Haley is also shown. Also at the event were Mary Lou Carreon, RDA; Trish Rains, Receptionist; and Melissa Lee, RDH.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 31 calls for service, issued one citation and made no arrests on March 22, 2011.
The SPD received 19, 911 calls.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had six calls for service, served four civil papers and made three arrests on March 22, 2011.

Funeral services for Barbara Aguilar, 60, of Colorado City, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Arrangements are pending with Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City.
C.H. Campbell, age 93, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.Â
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. onÂ Friday, March 25, 2011, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Ward Hayes officiating.Â Â Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
C.H. Campbell was born May 25, 1917, in Palava, Texas to Walter P. and Ethel F. Campbell.Â He was a Baptist.Â He worked for T&P Railway for many years before retiring.Â
He married Jewel F. Stone on August 26, 1939 inÂ Roby, Texas.Â Â Â Â Â
Dorothy Jean Wagoner, 62, of Colorado City, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Christian Temple Church in Colorado City, with Rev. Bobby Matlock and Rev. Kelvin Brown officiating. Family visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2011 at the funeral home.
A few times each year I get to watch Sweetwaterâ€™s high school baseball and softball teams play a common opponent on the same day. Iâ€™ve been doing it for over 15 years, in fact.
Rarely, however, in all that time have both of the SHS teams played more en-tertaining games the same day than they did at Wylie on Tuesday.
