The tallest aerial platform in North America is currently stationed within the local wind farm region — south of Sweetwater on Highway 70 at FM 608, west towards Maryneal. Abilene High Lift Aerial have brought their Steiger TTS 1000 platform to lift up technicians to inspect and repair the blades on the wind turbines.
During the Commissioners' Court meeting held on Feb. 28, the Nolan County Sheriff's Office presented their 2010 Racial Profiling Report.
Submitted and presented by Sheriff David Warren, Nolan County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped a total of 704 people. The majority of the stops were White, summing up to on overwhelming 486, or 69%. The White population stands at 59.9% in the county, compared to the state population of 46.7%.

Billy Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Slater's Chapel Cemetery in Nolan under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.

Iva Jo Cooper, formerly of Sweetwater, Texas passed away at a Weatherford nursing home on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at age of 86. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Cotten-Bratton Chapel in Weatherford, Texas. Internment will be at Buckner Cemetery near Dennis, Texas. John Herington, Minister of North Main Church of Christ will be officiating.
Robert “Bob” Karwedsky, 83, went to be with the Lord, Monday, Feb. 28, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Pastor James Williams will be officiating .
Addie Emmaline Simms Mahoney passed away on Tuesday evening, March 1, 2011, at her son’s home in Sweetwater. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Loraine, TX, with Rev. James McLeod officiating. There will be a family visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City. Interment will be at Lone Wolf Cemetery, near Hermleigh, TX.
