Roscoe students graduate with degrees

The Roscoe Collegiate High School celebrated a high achievement on Friday night, May 6 at the Coliseum in Snyder.
Over 50% of the graduating seniors attained the unique goal of graduating with an Associate's degree from Western Texas College in Snyder. The 13 seniors also have the distinct honor of graduating high school with the Associate's degree three weeks in advance of receiving their high school degrees.

Clowns take reading seriously at the County-City Library

Or maybe learn some fun facts about one of the more than 100 cities the mile-long circus train visits or how to teach your old dog a new trick? Then join David and Cherie Gregg, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Ambassadors of Laughter, for some serious fun on Thursday, May 12 at 4 p.m. at the County-City Library in Sweetwater.

USG announces retirement

USG announced the retirement of John Campbell, Quality Technician, after 30 years of dedicated service. John selected a laptop computer as his retirement gift. The employees of the Sweetwater Plant would like to thank John for his years of dedicated service, his personal commitment to safety and for his impact on the outstanding achievements of the plant over the years. Charles Randall Diggs, 85, passed away May 8, 2011, at his home after an extended illness. Funeral will be Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Earl Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
