GARLAND - Sweetwaterâs Senior League (ages 15-16) all-stars had more runs, hits and baserunners on Thursday than they did in their opening win the previous day at the Texas West Section 2 tournament.
Unfortunately, there was little clutch hitting, and not nearly enough outstanding pitching and defense this time around as Waco Southern handed Sweetwater its first loss, 15-4, at the South Garland Little League complex.
WACO - After scoring 14 runs against Wichita Falls in Wednesdayâs opener, Sweetwaterâs 10-11 year-old all-stars ran into a buzzsaw Thursday at the Texas West Section 2 Little League tournament as they fell to Fort Worth University, 10-0, in four innings.
Sweetwater, which failed to get a hit and had just one baserunner in the contest, must bounce back today in order to keep its sectional title hopes alive and stay in the tournament.Â
