The students at Kids Kampus school-age center had the chance to take a fun field trip on Friday to the Texas Theater. The students watched an animated movie and also received a personal popcorn and drink to enjoy the movie.
The Big Country Cutting Horse Association Secretary and Director of Big Country Cutting Horse Association, Suzy Watson received a check in the amount of $17,500 from the Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce. A competition was held this weekend at the Nolan County Coliseum. Shown giving the check are Chamber President Tom Rees, Jr. and Chamber Executive Vice President Jacque McCoy.
The Nolan County Commissioners Court called a special meeting on Friday, July 1, at the Nolan County Courthouse.
As approval must take place on a weekly basis, approval was once again given to extend the disaster declaration for Nolan County along with the order prohibiting outdoor burning for one week.

Motorists who believe they have had too much to drink will be provided a free tow and ride home beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2011.
