All four of Sweetwater High Schoolâ€™s sub-varsity basketball teams won their games against Merkel squads here Tuesday.
The freshman and JV girls won big, with the freshmen (8-1) prevailng 51-15 and the JV (10-1) winning 35-17. The JV boys (9-1) won 46-41 and the freshman boys (4-2) won by a score of 57-34.

Parts of Nolan County received over an inch of rain in the past few days according to a rain report from Saturday, Dec. 3, through Monday, Dec. 5.
Oak Creek received 0.71 inches of rain while Lake Trammell received 1.50 inches of rain and Lake Sweetwater received 1.25 inches of rain.
The filter plant received 0.98 inches of rain and Booster B received 0.62 inches of rain. The wastewater plant saw over an inch of rain with 1.46 inches, as well as Well Field P.S. with 1.40 inches of rain. CR 151 receives 0.75 inches of rain.
The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at Maloney Prescription Pharmacy and Ann-G's Gifts, located on 1405 Hailey.
The business is owned and operated by Wayne and Ann-G Chowning, where Ann-G is the on-site manager. Maloney Prescription Pharmacy provides services in prescriptions, Medicare Part B, free delivery on prescriptions and other products in stock, and all insurance cards are accepted including Medicaid and Medicare. Members of the Sweetwater Fire Department, Jarrett Knowles, Richard AcuĂ±a and Nick Shaw are shown boxing up groceries for Sweetwater Goodfellows that will be distributed to needy families this Friday, Dec. 9, 2011. The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 124 calls for service, issued three citations and made six arrests from Dec. 2-4, 2011.
The SPD received 65, 911 calls.

Pete Ortega, Jr. passed on Sept. 13, 2011, in Oklahoma City. The burial was held Monday, Dec. 5, 2011.
He is the grandson of Margarito and Socorro Gutierrez; son of Rebecca G. Castillo and step father Ruben Castillo. He had three brothers, Tony, David and Jose; two sisters, Margarita and Becky; several nieces and nephews; his daughter, Rebecca from Mexico; one aunt, Rachel Cuellar, three uncles, Tuto, Alfredo and Quie Gutierrez; and cousins from Sweetwater.
Nolan Countyâ€™s eight area high school varsity basket-ball teams are all at home today when they resume play after participating in weekend tournaments that wrapped up on Saturday at various locations.
Sweetwater hosts Merkel in a doubleheader, starting with the girls game at 6:30 followed by the boys at 8 p.m. JV games will be played in both gyms at 5 p.m., with a freshman boys game at 6:30 and freshman girls game at 8. Also, both Roscoe teams host Baird; Highlandâ€™s teams entertain Albany; and the Blackwell girls and boys host Trent.
