Stephanie Boyd lead a search party from the corner area of Sixth and Oak Streets, located near downtown Colorado City. Searches took place North of Colorado City.
A press conference was held on Friday, Jan. 7, in Colorado City to update the Big Country on the whereabouts of missing 13-year-old Hailey Dunn. The conference was led by City Manager Pete Kampfer and Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officer Sparky Dean.
The Highland girls and boys were the only winning Nolan County varsity basketball teams on Friday.
Both of Highlandâ€™s teams played host to Trent in Dis-trict 11-A, Division II action and the girls (4-1) romped to a 71-18 victory, while the boys (1-2) got their first district win, 45-35.
Sierra Allen led the Lady Hornets with 20 points while Callie Sandusky had 12, Kara Hughey 11 and Jessica McCain 10. Josh Andrews scored 24 points and Landon Rowlett 17 for the Highland boys.

BIG SPRING â€“ West Texas Centers and the Fraternal Lodge will be cooking up some friendly competition Jan. 29 at the Ninth Annual Children-In-Need Chili Cook-off hosted by the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3188 and benefiting West Texas Centers Children-In-Need benefit fund.
Close to 40 cooks are expected to participate in what has become one of the more popular chili cookoffs in the region, West Texas Centers Chief Operating Officer Landon Sturdivant said.
Region 14 Education Service Center Head Start announces that its â€śAnnual Report to the Publicâ€ť for 2009-2010 is available for viewing. This report is part of the federal standards for providing an annual report each year for school districts, parents, community members and any other interested agencies.
This report includes data on children served, curriculum, funding information, results from the 2010 Federal review and governance.
Julian Drive, a Christian rock group is once again coming to Sweetwater. The group performed at the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium last year in January. Julian Drive will be performing Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at the Sweetwater High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. This concert is being offered by the Church of God and is free to the public. The doors will open at 7 p.m.
