The Sweetwater Middle School boys defeated Snyder in three games Feb. 6. The eighth grade Red (42-21), eighth grade White (28-13) and seventh grade Red (23-18) won, while the seventh grade White lost 28-7.
The Sweetwater Middle School girls eighth grade White team finished as district co-champions after defeating Snyder, 27-23, in their final game Feb. 6.
Karleigh Coldiron, Carol-ine Guelker and Hanna Hayes all scored six points while Ashley Bax, Marisa Moncada, Ashley Parker and Elita Williams all scored two points and Payton Moore scored one point.
The Roscoe seventh grade boys basketball team took second place at a tourna-ment in Roscoe after split-ting two games Jan. 28.
Roscoe opened up its tournament with a 26-7 victory over Baird, but then lost to Hamlin, 31-25, in the title game. Bernardo Villa scored 12 points and Johnathan Cueller seven against Baird, while Jayce Phillips had four and Austin Willman three, and Cuellar and Phillips had eight, Villa five and Braiden Moore and Quentin Saddler two apiece against Hamlin.
The Sweetwater Fast Pitch Softball Association will have three more signups this month for participants who are ages 6-under through 14-under.
They will be on Monday, Feb. 13; Tuesday, Feb. 21; and Thursday, Feb. 23.
All signups will be held at the Jaycees Annex located on Crane Street. The cost for signing up will $65, and for those with a second sibling the cost will be $60.
All persons are asked to please bring a birth certificate to the signups.

ARLINGTON -- Daylon Bruce, 86, passed away peacefully in his home on February 10, 2012 surrounded by his family.
Memorial service: 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Arlington. Officiating, Dr. David Mosser and Rev. Dan Bruce. The family will receive friends in the parlor at 11 a.m.
