After a season-opening tie at San Angelo Lake View and splitting four games this past weekend at Lake View’s tournament, Sweetwater almost overcame two six-run deficits Tuesday against 5A San Angelo Central in the Mustangs’ home open-er. But the Bobcats held off a serious threat in the sixth inning, and held off another potential rally in the seventh for a 10-6 victory.
Sweetwater trailed 10-4 when Stephen May tripled with two outs to score Shawn Campbell and Cole Maxwell in the sixth inning and chase Central’s starting pitcher Jake Butler.
