Former Sweetwater High School assistant coach Shane Mobley has been named as the lone finalist to be the school's new head football coach and athletic director.
The decision was announced Tuesday afternoon in a news release from the Sweetwater ISD. Mobley, currently the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Seguin High School, will be presented for approval to Sweetwater ISD's school board when it meets Monday night after being named as the lone finalist from a pool of over 100 applicants.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released its draft rules to limit greenhouse gas emissions, requiring carbon dioxide (CO2) emission controls on new coal plants that are similar to those of the Tenaska Trailblazer Energy Center.
The Trailblazer project is designed to capture 85 to 90 percent of the CO2 it produces, keeping emission levels well below the requirements of the EPAâs draft rule. Projects like Trailblazer are important because they help develop and commercialize the technology that can meet such standards.
