Sweetwater Animal Control currently has a family of dogs available for adoption.
Available for adoption is a Yorkie mother and her four two-week-old puppies. The family has been at the shelter since the puppies were just a few days old, but would thrive better at a home, said Sweetwaterâs animal control officer, Don Kite. The family would have to be adopted out all together since the puppies still need their mother.
Animals that are picked up are kept for a minimum of three days, but he tries to keep them from a week to 10 days.
As part of the Sweetwater Independent School District convocation for faculty and staff, a "Mustang Olympics" competition was held at the end of the day at the Sweetwater High School Auditorium.
In a competition called Zesta Handball, three competitors per team had to eat three crackers, blow up a balloon, tie it off, run to a chair across the stage, sit on and bust the balloon before the next person on the team started.
Shown are Deana Gray with the Sweetwater High School Red Rocket Mustangs and Jimmy Bennett with the East Ridge Dream Team chowing down on their first crackers.
