Mornings can be one of the most hectic parts of the day for busy parents. While trying to get the kids dressed, fed and ready-to-go during the morning crunch, it's easy to skimp on the little things that keep you at your best and ready for the rest of the day. Heinz Nutritionist Carla Addison shares a few easy tips to get the day started right and keep you feeling your best throughout the day - even on the busiest of mornings.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 38 calls for service, issued four citations and made three arrests on Sept. 24, 2012.
The SPD received 21, 911 calls.
Calls for service:
• Burglary of a habitation — 500 block of Bowie.
Arrested by SPD:
• Christopher Medina, 25 — Warrants.
• Jackie Norris, 56 — Possession/use inhale/ingest volatile chemical.
• Christopher Hill, 29 — Expired driver license.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had 11 calls for service, served no civil papers and made one arrest on Sept. 24, 2012.

Two pleas were entered during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.
Dr. Robert Eaker was named the 2012 Outstanding Young Citizen at the 48th Annual Chamber Banquet on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.
Ray Cornutt, the 2011 Outstanding Young Citizen, made the presentation for this year's Outstanding Young Citizen, which was awarded to Dr. Robert Eaker.
Dr. Eaker came to Sweetwater in 2005. He and his wife, Lisa, have three sons--Garrison, age nine; Grayson, age seven; and three-year-old Elliott.
Jan Smith was named the 2012 Outstanding Female Citizen at the 48th Annual Chamber Banquet on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.
Last year's Outstanding Female Citizen, Leah Andrews, made the presentation for the 2012 Outstanding Female Citizen, Jan Toland Smith.
"The 2012 Female Outstanding Citizen is truly one of the most inspirational women I have ever met. When I speak with other folks about her, without fail the conversation always turns to the same things. Everyone mentions some of the same endearing and admirable traits," said Andrews.
Cyrus Dale McCreight was named the 2012 Outstanding Male Citizen at the 48th Annual Chamber Banquet on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.
Last year's Outstanding Male Citizen, Vershell Smith, made the presentation for the 2012 Outstanding Male Citizen, Cyrus Dale McCreight.
"President Foster, members of the Chamber and guests, I have a gentleman to announce," said Smith. "This person is a rather private individual, but full of life. He is smart, sociable, religious and some say, very complex."
Roscoe State Bank was named the 2012 Business of the Year at the 48th Annual Chamber Banquet on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.
Last year's Business of the Year, Wind Energy Turbine Services (WETS), made the presentation for the 2012 Business of the Year, Roscoe State Bank. Reece McCain made the presentation.
"In 1906, Theodore Roosevelt was President of the United States. The Model T by Ford wasn’t in production yet. People haven’t ever heard the term World War. But in early December of that same year, this 2012 Business of the Year opened its doors for the first time 106 years ago," he stated.
The burn ban was approved to remain lifted in Nolan County during the county commissioners' meeting on Monday morning, September 24 at the Nolan County Courthouse.
Just last week--at their meeting on September 17, the decision was made to lift the burn ban. The continued lifting of the ban will remain in effect for the next two weeks, or until the next appointed meeting date.
Five transports were made after an one-vehicle wreck on Highway 84, north of Roscoe around 2:30 p.m.
Two patients were flown via helicopter to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. One patient was in serious condition when flown and later died from injuries sustained in the wreck while the other was in stable condition.
Three other patients were taken to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital via ambulance. All were in stable condition.
