This year’s team has a 10-6 overall record and ended the first half of District 4-3A play with a 3-2 mark. The Lady Mustangs begin the second half of district by hosting Big Spring at 7:30 p.m. today.
Sweetwater’s junior var-sity girls basketball team has a perfect 19-0 record entering today’s 5 p.m. game with Big Spring after winning 38-24 at Wylie this past Friday.
Cierra Knox had 14 points to lead Sweetwater (5-0 in district play), which led 16-12 at halftime and outscored Wylie 14-5 in the third quarter to open a 30-17 lead. Abby McPherson scored seven, Shaneese Brown six, Maddie Jones five, Bianca Castillo four and Nisha Williams two.
We'll be seeing a bit of a warm up today, with a high near 63 and mostly sunny skies. Winds will be from the south at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tonight, expect mostly clear skies and a low around 46, with southern winds at 10 to 15 mph.
