The Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Mammography Department was recently inspected by the Texas Department of State Health Services.Â
During the inspection, the Mammography Department passed all aspects of the inspection and there were no health related violations of 25 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 289. Pictured with their certificate of inspection are RPMH mammographers Lori Brockman, RT(R)(M)MRT and Andra Barton RT(R)MRT.Â

Wes Bishop, longtime Director of Physical Therapy at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH) and beloved community member died over the weekend.
Bishop had served in his position at the hospital for 36 years. As a result of Bishopâ€™s instrumental work in planning, fundraising and development, the two-hundred square foot department in 1977 expanded to a 2,000 square-foot department in 1982 and then to a 6,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art complex in 1998. Also in 1982, he was the first recipient of the hospitalâ€™s prestigious Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award.
Bill Johnson, President of Mesa Financial Corp. and its subsidiary Texas National Bank, Sweetwater, and Bill Terry, Chairman of South Taylor County Bancshares, Inc. and its subsidiary First State Bank in Tuscola, announced that they have reached a definitive agreement for Mesa to acquire South Taylor County Bancshares and First State Bank in Tuscola. Pending regulatory and shareholder approval, the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2014.
Twila Gay Green Culpepper, age 92, of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dick McAnally officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in Tuxedo, Texas. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 from 5:30-7 p.m.
Funeral services for Horace Hoskins, 93, of Sweetwater, will be held on 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Keith Clower officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
A visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at McCoy Funeral Home.
Hoskins died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 in Sweetwater.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1919 in Bonham, Texas. He married Ellen Bryant on Sept. 8, 1943 in Snyder.
Memorial services for Robert Scott Plemons, 29, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Corey Cornutt officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Plemons died on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born on Nov. 16, 1983 in Abilene. He was a graduate of Highland High School. He lived in Sweetwater all his life and had worked as a veterinarian technician.
Mary E. Johnston, age 82, of Brownwood, (long-time resident of Sweetwater) passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Billie Murel Abbott, 83, went to be with her Lord Saturday morning at a Jayton nursing center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Aspermont officiated by Rev. Larry Burton with burial to follow in the Aspermont Cemetery under the care and direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Aspermont.
