A Nolan County Grand Jury indicted seven people this month. Five of those indictments were sealed. The following cases were true-billed:
Teresa Ann Williams was indicted for possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, namely cocaine, a second degree felony. Williams possessed more than a gram, but less than four grams of cocaine on Dec. 8, 2012, according to court documents. Her bond was set at $20,000.
Texas State Technical College Sweetwater campus will again play host to the annual Nolan County Health Fair. The event, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Student Center, will feature approximately 40 Big Country area vendors.Â
The Nolan County Hospital District board of directors met with the president of the Texas Midwest Emergency Physicians during their monthly meeting held Monday evening at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH).
This month, RPMH began using doctors from this group within the emergency department. The group not only provides coverage for the Sweetwater hospital but for Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene as well.
A 33-year-old Shackelford County man died Tuesday afternoon at an oil well site in southeastern Nolan County.
Sheriff David Warren said that were three men working on a pulling unit at a lease approximately 26 miles southeast of Sweetwater and just east of Highway 153 in Nolan County. According to the co-workers, the deceased man began feeling dizzy and fell to the ground. They turned him over and immediately called 9-1-1 for medical assistance. Sweetwater Fire Department, Nolan County Sheriffâ€™s Office and a Texas DPS Trooper responded to the call.
The Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department and several other agencies held a mock exercise simulating how they would handle a flu outbreak in Sweetwater. The exercise was held at the Nolan County Coliseum parking lot.

Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH) would like to recognize their Physical Therapy department for going above and beyond serving the patients of Sweetwater and the surrounding communities.

Sweetwater 7th grade â€˜Aâ€™ and â€˜Bâ€™ teams will play at Monahans at 4:30 and 5:45 p.m., respectively.
Sweetwater 8th grade â€˜Bâ€™ and â€˜Aâ€™ teams will play at Monahans at 4:30 and 5:45 p.m., respectively.
Sweetwater freshman and JV teams will host Monahans at 5 and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
Roscoe junior high and JV teams at Hamlin at 4 and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
Highland junior high and JV teams host Ira at 4 and 5:30 p.m., respectively.
The Sweetwater volleyball team will try again today to advance to end a five-year playoff drought.
Sweetwater â€” bidding for the No. 4 spot in District 4-3A â€” was to host Snyder in Tuesday eveningâ€™s season finale at Mustang Gym. But a schedule mixup involving the officials for the match caused the teams to cancel and reschedule the varsity match for 6:30 p.m. today at Mustang Gym. The JV and freshman games for Sweetwater and Snyder on Tuesday were played, but replacement officials for the varsity match could not be found, resulting in the 24-hour delay.
Angel Caballero (shown) and Ty Crain are the Sweet-water Football Players of the Week for their play on the offensive line this past week against Big Spring.
Caballero and Crain are starters for the Mustangs at left and right tackle, respectively.
