Vickie's Gifts and Brighton give back to the community

Jerry Kohl, owner of Brighton and Vickie's Gifts in Roscoe partnered together and raised $696 for The Highland ISD Arts Department.
Brighton designed a limited edition bracelet called "Independence Americana Bracelet" and gave Brighton specialty stores the option to donate their proceeds to a local arts department. 
If they chose to donate, Brighton would match the donation. Vickie Haynes of Vickie's Gifts was happy to participate and pleased to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children.

Tammy Terrell Blueford-Jackson, 41, of Austin, TX passed away Sept. 26, 2013 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Okla. after a heroic battle with cancer.

Shale Show going on now, continues tomorrow

The first Shale Show is currently going on at the Nolan County Coliseum complex in Sweetwater and will continue tomorrow with roughly 200 indoor and outdoor oil industry exhibits set-up. Exhibitors arrived from more than a dozen states and from all energy regions of Texas. Exhibits include drilling rigs, helicopter ambulance, dozens of heavy vehicles indoors and out, two buildings of indoor trade show booths, high-profile speakers, etc.

CR 151: 2.17 inches
Oak Creek is 22.40 percent full and Lake Sweetwater is 22.60 percent full.

Wes Bishop was named the 2013 Outstanding Male Citizen at the 49th Annual Chamber Banquet on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.

Doug Sitter State Farm to host Chamber Coffee

The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Doug Sitter State Farm, located at 208 Lamar Street.
The insurance office is owned and operated by Doug Sitter. On-site managers are Brandi Sitter and Jessica Rangel.
