Several upcoming fundraisers have been planned for local resident Sheila Williams, who recently lost her house in a fire in mid-December.
One of the fundraisers will be held in Big Spring, while two benefits are scheduled to take place in Abilene.
Since the incident, Williams has been able to stay at a local hotel with her granddaughter, as she is the sole caretaker of the 21-month old girl. There was no insurance on the house, which was considered a total loss.
According to responders of the fire, the power had been turned off at the house. Thus, candles were burning in the house.

Jennings says that Blackburn has many Sweetwater shirts that he has purchased or have been given to him and his family as gifts. “He comes in during the Rattlesnake Round-Up and always wants to pick out a new Sweetwater shirt. He just really loves it here.”
