The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 162 calls for service, issued 14 citations and made 17 arrests from Jan. 18-20, 2013.
The SPD received 71, 911 calls.

Sandra Jean Blakeney passed away at her home on Monday, Jan. 22, 2013.
She was born June 9, 1946 in Edna, Texas to Clifton R. and Wilma Smith. She married Joel W. Blakeney on Nov. 10, 1966, in Midland, Texas. They had three sons, James E. Blakeney, Joel W. Blakeney and Robert C. Blakeney.
She was a member of the Word of God Church in Sweetwater, and a good Christian who was a devoted worker at her church. She considered members of the church to be her family and close friends. She also helped many people that were in need.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Robert P. "Bobby" Gomez, 61, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Charles Okonkwo officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be recited by Lupe Medellin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Gomez died Sunday, Jan. 20, at his home.
Jerry D. Heflin, 74, of Marble Falls, Texas, died Jan. 17, 2013. He was born April 29, 1938, in Girard, Texas to parents who were both of Native American ancestry. His father, W.T. Heflin was of Tonkawa ancestry and his mother, Lola Mae (Waldon) Heflin was Cherokee and Irish.
As a young man, Jerry served three years in the United States Army and received training in California and was later deployed to Korea where he served as a pilot for all types of water craft.
Bob Horn, 83, of Coahoma, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2012 atÂ Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at the Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard, Texas.
When Sweetwaterâ€™s teams play host to Big Spring today at Mustang Gym, both ends of the District 4-3A double-header will be critical for the home team.
The 3-2 girls need a win over 2-3 Big Spring to avoid falling into a third-place tie, while the 1-2 boys will try to keep Big Spring (0-3) win-less in district and possibly gain a third-place tie with Greenwood (2-1), which will travel to 3-0 Monahans.

Sweetwaterâ€™s junior var-sity girls basketball team has a perfect 19-0 record entering todayâ€™s 5 p.m. game with Big Spring after winning 38-24 at Wylie this past Friday.
Cierra Knox had 14 points to lead Sweetwater (5-0 in district play), which led 16-12 at halftime and outscored Wylie 14-5 in the third quarter to open a 30-17 lead. Abby McPherson scored seven, Shaneese Brown six, Maddie Jones five, Bianca Castillo four and Nisha Williams two.

UPDATE: About mid afternoon, law enforcement officers received a tip from local citizens in Colorado City that three men had entered a building there. Officers have the building surrounded. The neighborhood has been evacuated and travelers are not allowed into the area as a safety precaution. It is believed the three males from this morningâ€™s pursuit are the three that have barricaded themselves in the building.
