A few years ago, I had the privilege of taking a mission trip to Greenland. One evening, I was sitting on a mountain overlooking 10 small lakes. The beauty was like a dream. I could hear the wind blowing softly, the birds nesting in the trees, and the ice cracking in the ocean. It was such an amazing site.

Now that the New Year has begun, Cornerstone Christian School has come up with an event to help the whole family get a good start on their health for 2013. The Highland girls bas-ketball team has been here before. Two years ago, they were also at the Region II-A tourney at Abilene Christian University where they lost to Newcastle in the semifinals. The ultimate goal will be to do something no Highland team has done — go to the state tournament in Austin. That means the Lady Hornets (29-4) must not only defeat Baird (26-6) but also beat Garden City or Eula, who play in today’s other semifinal, in the II-A final on Saturday.
