SHS teams are making history

April 18, 2013

Having successful baseball and softball teams at Sweetwater High School is something people here haven’t been accustomed to seeing on a regular basis.
In fact, having both teams in the playoffs the same year has never happened. That’s why the past week at SHS has been, well ... historic.
Dating back to 1996, the first year Sweetwater played softball, each of the teams had been to the playoffs on three occasions — but never in the same year.
For most of that 17-year period, the losses — especially against district competition — have far outnumbered the wins.

n Choose pickling cucumbers, not slicing cucumbers. Pickling cucumbers are short and blocky — about 4 inches long. They should be firm and green in color with no blemishes.
