On Sunday, May 12, the "Fireproof Your Marriage" series will begin at 4th & Elm Church of Christ during the 10:30 a.m. service. For six Sunday mornings, the sermons will tackle different aspects of marriage while understanding God's plan for a lifelong partnership.
Local medical center honors work of nursing team and observes national celebration of hospitals
As many rural healthcare facilities struggle, residents of Nolan County have much to be thankful for as Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH) continues to thrive amidst a challenging economy and an ever-changing healthcare landscape. The local medical community will join the nation in celebrating National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week.
Meek Blood Center will bring two bloodmobiles to Sweetwater on Thursday, May 9 from noon until 6 p.m. The bloodmobile that usually parks at the Nolan County Courthouse will be parked in the First Financial Bank parking lot located across the street from the Post Office. The other bloodmobile will be parked at the Lions Club building at 1501 Lamar Street.
On Saturday, April 27, Brooklynn Petty drilled at the Children's Bible Drill in Lubbock at Calvary Baptist Church.Â
On one call her finger was placed on the wrong side of the page in the Bible.Â She received a Superior rating.Â
Pictured with her is her sister, Justynne Petty who would have qualified for state drill if she had been one year older.Â Also with them is their coach Natile Woodrow.
They were representing First Baptist Church of Sweetwater.Â Brooklynn and Justynne are the daughters of Roland and Leigh Petty of Sweetwater.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 37 calls for service, issued no citations and made two arrests on May 6, 2013.
The SPD received 20, 911 calls.
