The Sweetwater High School baseball team was recently honored with a resolution by the Sweetwater ISD for making the playoffs. Several members of the team were present at last weekâ€™s school board meeting and were presented individual resolutions.

Three entered pleas during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings on Monday.
David Wayne Suddock pleaded guilty to credit card or debit card abuse, a state jail felony. He was sentenced to 18 months confinement in the State Jail Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice with 206 days of credit towards his sentence for time already served in jail. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine, $343 in court costs, $500 in attorney's fees, $82.98 in restitution to First Financial Bank of Sweetwater and $1,500 in restitution to Texas National Bank of Sweetwater.

Mustang Theatre Camp for second through eighth graders kicked off last Thursday at the Sweetwater High School Auditorium and continued on Monday.
Each day of camp starts at 9 a.m. and provides a concentrated experience in the world of theatre production with participation in acting, improvisation, costume building, makeup, backstage crew work, history, dance and performance. Participating campers are given the opportunity to act or work as technical support crew.

Merle Fitts, 92, died on June 21, 2013, in El Dorado, Ark. while in the care of hospice.

Carolyn Fraley Daniel, 70, of Sweetwater, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at a local medical center in Abilene. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 213 E. 3rd Street in Sweetwater, with arrangements being handled by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd in Abilene.
