Phanette Baumann, 86, of Sweetwater, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Baumann was cremated.
Baumann was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Loraine. She married Lester Baumann. Phanette was a graduate of Loraine High School and Harris Nursing School in Fort Worth with a Registered Nursing Degree. She moved to Sweetwater from Fort Worth in February of 2007. She and her husband owned a summer home in Colorado and enjoyed spending time there.
She is survived by several cousins.
Obdulia Heredia Lopez, age 82, of Sweetwater, went unto her Saviorâs arms at sunset on Sept. 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lionzo Soria officiating, assisted by Al Williams. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 24
Sweetwater freshman, JV and varsity teams will host Levelland â freshmen and JV begin at 5 p.m., varsity at 6:15 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 25
Roscoe runners will be at Merkel meet.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 26
Sweetwater 7th grade âBâ and âAâ teams will host Brownwood at 4 and 5:15 p.m., respectively.
Sweetwater 8th grade âBâ and âAâ teams will host Brownwood at 6:30 and 7:45 p.m., respectively.

However, Wall held off a second-half comeback to pull out a 42-28 victory.
Facing a 21-point deficit and forced to turn the ball over on downs at Wallâs 18-yard line with 6:23 left in the third quarter, Sweet-waterâs hopes of a miracle comeback appeared to be dead here Friday night.
But 21-point leads arenât what they used to be, and it wasnât long until the Mus-tangs were poised to pull off that miracle after cutting Wallâs lead to 35-28 with 8:13 to play.
The Sweetwater High School varsity volleyball team will host its final pre-district game Tuesday against Levelland before starting 4-3A play at Monahans on Saturday.

Ted Chambliss goes up to make an interception for Blackwell in Fridayâs 45-0 win over Trent. Blackwell remained unbeaten at 4-0 with the victory in its first home game of the season.
The Hornets ran just 11 plays in Fridayâs game, which ended at halftime due to Six-Manâs 45-point mercy rule. Blackwell has won three of its games by the mercy rule but faces a tough game at Blanket this Friday.
Blackwell (4-0) romped past Trent 45-0 on Friday to stay unbeaten, while Nolan Countyâs other six-man team â Highland â finally broke through for their first win of the season by outscoring Sands 56-42.

BLACKWELL â After playing its first three games on the road, Blackwell fin-ally got some home cooking and needed just one half to beat Trent (2-2) by the 45-point mercy rule.
Blackwell led 24-0 after one quarter and added 21 points in the second stanza, while running just 11 plays before play was halted.
