Several upcoming fundraisers have been planned for local resident Sheila Williams, who recently lost her house in a fire in mid-December.
One of the fundraisers will be held in Big Spring, while two benefits are scheduled to take place in Abilene.
Since the incident, Williams has been able to stay at a local hotel with her granddaughter, as she is the sole caretaker of the 21-month old girl. There was no insurance on the house, which was considered a total loss.
According to responders of the fire, the power had been turned off at the house. Thus, candles were burning in the house.
