The flavors of these grilled vegetables are reminiscent of the French summer favorite, ratatouille, but grilling is so Texan! Next time you crank up the grill, grill these vegetables next to that Texas size steak, or add them on top of your burger. Serves 4
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons herbes de Provence*
1 large ripe tomato, sliced crosswise 1/2 inch thick
1 medium zucchini, sliced 1/2 inch thick
2 Portobello mushrooms, stemmed, caps halved
2 sweet bell peppers
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Texas Midwest Community Network Executive Director Nicki Harle has announced plans to step down by the end of the year. The organization is seeking a new executive and has posted information about the position and application process on the Texas Midwest website, www.texasmidwest.org.
TMCN is a regional non-profit organization of communities working together to accomplish what one community can not do alone. The mission of TMCN is to promote a regional approach to provide the resources and awareness for its members to achieve economic and community growth.

Holcomb (District 4) was also sworn in during the meeting by Andrews.
On May 13, the county-wide burn ban was lifted by the Nolan County Commissioners. At Monday morningâ€™s meeting, approval was given for the burn ban to remain lifted, due to the recent rains that have fallen in the area.
Also during the meeting, the recommendation of Erica Caballero as the City-County Library Director was approved. Elsie Pierce, the chairperson of the library board, offered some information about the application process.
Graveside services for Alfred Carroll Kellams, 87, of Sweetwater, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene with Rev. Raymond Payne officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Kellams died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Roscoe Collegiate High School recently held a ban-quet to honor athletes from the 2012-13 school year.

Those who gave all were remembered Monday at the Nolan County Memorial Day Flag Raising Ceremony on the south side of the Nolan County Courthouse.
Team Chip Tae Kwon Do leaders Lonnie Mendez, Amanda Martinez and Eric Martinez, assisted by Team Chip students, presented and raised the American flag.Â The Texas flag was presented and raised by Boatswainâ€™s Mate Brittney Clark BMSN (SW).
Retired Sweetwater Police Chief Jim Kelley led the service as master of ceremonies.Â Nolan County Judge Tim Fambrough was the featured speaker.
