The City of Roscoe recently welcomed McVeyâs Native Nursery to town with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Many members of the community showed their support at the event. Armeta âJaneyâ Sansing passed away April 14, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 20, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with family members officiating. Interment will follow in the Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A family visitation will be held Friday April 19, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
SPRINGTOWN â Coy Lee Moore, 84, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away, Monday, April 15, 2013, in Fort Worth.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Old Sweetwater Cemetery in Sweetwater.
Coy worked for the Sante Fe Railroad as an engineer and retired after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing and playing dominos.
MONAHANS â For the first time since 2004, Sweetwaterâs baseball team is in the Class 3A playoffs.
But wait, thereâs more.
After Tuesdayâs 10-5 win at Monahans â coupled with Snyderâs 7-4 victory over Wylie â the Mustangs find themselves all alone atop District 4-3A.
But it took a late rally for Sweetwater (7-1) to defeat Monahans, which had taken a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth and was just three outs from an upset victory.

Sweetwater varsity will host Wylie, 4 p.m.
Sweetwater varsity and JV host Wylie at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively.
MONAHANS â Sweet-waterâs softball team came into Monahans on Friday having clinched a playoff berth, but still with a chance to claim at least a share of the District 4-3A title.
And after rallying from an early four-run deficit to tie the game at 4-4, the Lady Mustangsâ dream was still alive. But missed opportunities to take the lead led to a disappointing finish, as Monahans scored the winning run in the seventh inning on a walk-off single to claim a 5-4 victory.

Gisela Solano and Serena Flores won their first match before losing to the eventual tournament runnerup.
Draw A boys singles
Blake Armstrong was eliminated in the semifinals of the consolation bracket; Ty Casto reached the semifinals of the winners bracket before losing to the eventual tournament champion.
Draw B boys singles
Josh Browning lost his first match, but won his next three to take the consolation medal.

The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 53 calls for service, issued four citations and made four arrests on April 15, 2013.
The SPD received 49, 911 calls.

A fire consumed a home on Adrian Road, just south of Interstate 20 in Nolan County on Monday afternoon, as firefighters tried to extinguish the blaze. According to authorities, the home was a total loss. A lack of manpower and water was a contributing factor to the loss. Assisting with the fire were the Sweetwater fire Department, Trent Volunteer Fire Department, Lake Sweetwater Volunteer Fire Department, Merkel Volunteer Fire Department, Nolan Volunteer Fire Department and the Nolan County Sheriff's Office.
