Officers searching for men after chase, vehicle found abandoned in Nolan County

January 21, 2013

Law enforcement officers are looking for three men in the western part of the Big Country.
The search began early Monday morning when a Department of Public Safety officer tried to stop a driver for a traffic violation.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle refused to stop and led the officers on a chase that covered parts of Howard, Mitchell and Nolan Counties.
The three men in the car allegedly shot at the pursuing state trooper and that brought in more officers.
The men reportedly abandoned the SUV and got in another vehicle.
