The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Nolan Nursing and Rehab, located at 705 NE Georgia.
There will be a RED OUT Friday night at Mustang Bowl. Sweetwater Independent School District is encouraging everyone to wear their red and pack the stands for the most exciting game of the season against Wylie. There will also be a RED OUT T-shirt give-away. The first 200 adult ticket holders through the gate and wearing red, will win a RED OUT T-shirt.
At halftime, there will be a âBlack Outâ performance by the Mighty Mustang Marching Band.
Members of the Nolan County Foundation Board recently approved a Matching Grant of $40,000 for the under-construction Cardiac Rehab and Wellness Facility at the Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. This action came after a presentation to the NCF Board by RPMH Administrator Donna Boatright and Wes Stafford detailing this newest project.
Several members of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) visited Southeast Elementary School recently to teach Kindergarten and first grade students about stranger danger.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The County Clerkâs office wants to remind voters about the new voter ID law, which requires one of the following forms of identification before a person is allowed to vote. The ID is necessary even if a voter has their voter registration card on hand.
The types of ID that will be accepted are:

Alexis Williams gets down on her knees to return a volley for Sweetwater in last Wednesdayâs regular-season ending District 4-3A volleyball match against Snyder.
Sweetwa-ter clinched a playoff spot by beating Snyder, and the Lady Mustangs will now face Fabens at 5 p.m. today to begin their post-season run. The bi-district playoff will be in Crane.
Class 3A met Class 1A on Tuesday when the Highland girls basketball team made the short trip to Sweetwater as both teams opened their 2013-14 seasons.

Ahead 21-19 at halftime, the visiting Lady Hornets completely dominated the last two periods as they crushed the Lady Mustangs 55-24 at Mustang Gym.
Cory Mendez is the Sweet-water Football Player of the Week.
Mendez was in on nine tackles, three unassisted, and had an 81-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the teamâs 28-9 win over Monahans.
Roscoe and Highland runners competed at the Region II-A cross country meet this past Saturday in Grand Prairie. None of the runners qualified for the state meet, which is for the top three teams and top 10 individuals in each division. Their individual places and times were as follows:
