Ella Sedberry passed away March 8, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Pastor John Gentry officiating Interment will follow at Decker Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Ella was born April 29, 1917, in Ballinger to Ella and M. Walden. She married W.O. Sedberry April 1, 1938 who preceded her in death in 1978.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Ollie Crain, Eppie Crain and Emma Lanier.

Rotan High School senior Kyndra Vaught was crowned Miss Snake Charmer 2013 during the Sweetwater Jaycees annual Miss Snake Charmer scholarship pageant Thursday night at the Municipal Auditorium. Vaught is the daughter of Jeff and Tricia Hurt of Rotan and Chance Vaught of Roby.
Vaught also won the talent portion of the competition with her rendition of Sara Evans’ “Suds in the Bucket,†which she sang and accompanied herself on guitar.
Logan Orozco, a senior at Ballinger High School, was selected as first runner-up by the judges. She is the daughter of Amy Michelle Gallant of Ballinger.
Rattlesnake Round-up weekend is full of fun and excitement, which can leave residents a little worn out. The Monday after it may seem a little harder to wake up, but to make matters worse, this weekend is the beginning of daylight saving time.

Broadway Baptist Church invites the public on Sunday, March 10, to share in Friend Day.Â
During the morning service they will have Dr. Gene Howard, who is a John Wayne impersonator. Not only will Dr. Howard impersonate John Wayne, but he will give a spiritual message of freedom and sacrifice with a patriotic flair.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 47 calls for service, issued no citations and made one arrest on Mar. 6, 2013.
The SPD received 24, 911 calls.

• Forgery/unauthorized use of a vehicle — 300 block of W. Colorado.
• Theft — 800 block of E. 17th.

The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had eight calls for service, served four civil papers and made one arrest on Mar. 6, 2013.

Sedberry died Friday, March 8, 2013, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
HAMLIN - Frances L. (Derington) Boil, 88 passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Snyder. Services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Hamlin with burial at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. on Saturday at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.
Allie Lee Greer, age 92, of Clifton, (former resident of Sweetwater) passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Goodall Witcher Hospital in Clifton.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Broadway Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie Lehrman officiating, assisted by Brother L. J. McCullough. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Four Sweetwater High School basketball players have earned District 4-3A recognition for their out-standing play this season.
Junior Kaleb Hoover was named to the first team and junior Dylan Bennett made the second team. Two soph-omores, Isaiah McGee and Rhett Torres, received all-district honorable mention.
Hoover, who led the Mus-tangs in scoring with a 15.7 average during district play, was the district newcomer of the year as a sophomore.
