"Super Chaos" was held at 4th and Elm Church of Christ on Wednesday night, August 8, 2012 on the church campus. Families of children attending the weekly summer children's program at the church, "Chaos", were invited to take part in the special event that included a bounce house, a meal and games for everyone.
"Chaos" started in June and has been held each Wednesday night this summer at 4th and Elm Church of Christ for elementary students, offering them a time of Bible stories, puppets, crafts and snacks. The program will wrap up on August 29.
Sweetwaterâ€™s West Texas Stampede softball team recently won first place at an 8-under tournament in Snyder.
Despite being one player short of a full team, Sweetwater played eight games at the one-day event and beat Abileneâ€™s â€˜Da Heatâ€™ twice for the title after losing to them in the semifinals.

Sweetwater ISD (Independent School District) will be holding "Meet the Teacher" event this week on all six campuses. The events will begin tonight at 5 p.m. when J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center will host its Meet the Teacher event.
On Tuesday, two campuses will give students and parents the opportunity to meet their teacher. Sweetwater High School (SHS) will host its Meet the Teacher event at 5:30 p.m., while Sweetwater Middle School (SMS) will host their event at 6:30 p.m.
Traveling across the United States for many years, a very special quilt top has returned to the last surviving person who worked on the quilt.
Several action items were presented during Tuesday's Sweetwater City Commission meeting as the city prepares for the new fiscal year.
Two public hearings were held, with the first hearing dealing with the proposed budget for 2013-2014. Tt was noted by City Manager Eddie Brown that city staff has been working on the budget since January of this year, held a budget retreat in May, and the proposed budget has been available for public inspection in July 9.

WICHITA FALLS â€” The best way to describe Sweet-waterâ€™s opening scrimmage against Wichita Falls Hir-schi on Friday might be to use the title of a Clint Eastwood movie.
There was the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good: a productive passing game led by number one quarterback Kaegan Jeffrey, who completed 13 of 18 passes for 194 yards and Sweetwaterâ€™s only score, a 1-yard toss to Kaleb Hoov-er. Hoover (4 for 64), Bray Amos (3 for 68) and Isaiah McGee (4 for 47) were Jef-freyâ€™s favorite targets.
This precious woman became an Angel in Heaven.Â God gave her wings on Aug. 14, 2013.
She was born in Cortez, Colo. on Sept. 20, 1955.Â She was raised in Mozelle, TX and graduated from Mozelle High School in 1973. She lived in Levelland for the past 17 years moving from Sweetwater in 1996.
She married her best friend Michael "Blue" Bredemeyer on Jan. 19, 1978. They celebrated 35 years of the most loving and nurturing marriage, full of fun and laughter.Â
