Funeral services for Don Odell Williams, 64, of Sweetwater are pending with McCoy Funeral Home.
Williams died Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home.

Two ex-Highland High School athletes earned MVP recognition on Saturday at Six-Man Coaches Associa-tion all-star games that were held in Wichita Falls.
Abilene Christian Univ-ersity-bound Sierra Allen had a team-high 18 points in the West starsâ€™ 81-48 win over the East in the girls basketball game, while Michael Hyde was defensive MVP as the West prevailed 42-16 over the East in the football game. Both Allen and Hyde are 2014 HHS graduates.
Allen was also named as her teamâ€™s MVP back in June when she played in a Fellowship of Christian Athletes all-star basketball game held in Brownwood.
A Mustang Football Camp will be held this Wednesday through Friday, July 23-25 at Mustang Bowl from 8-11 a.m. daily for students entering grades 3-9. The cost of the camp is $30, and all campers will receive individual instruction from members of the Mustang coaching staff. The camp will place emphasis on skills and drills and will also have both punt, pass and kick instruction and competitions. There will also be refreshments, T-shirts and certificates. Checks should be made payable to Sweetwater High School.

Danny was born in Sweetwater on Aug. 6, 1961. He worked as a roughneck from 1980-1984, then continued on as a teamster at a South Texas Nuclear Project from 1984-1991. While providing for his growing family, Danny continued as a Process Operator at the Dow Chemical Company from 1991-2014. He respected his friends and co-workers. Their friendship was valued. Danny was a devoted family man and loving father to his children. Danny loved the simple farm life and all it has to offer. A lot of work but, big rewards. Danny enjoyed live country music and dancing. That is where he met his wife, Karen.
At 5:32 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, the Nolan County Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to a missing aircraft in southern Nolan County. Family members reported that Weldon Pat Oden, 71, of Blackwell, had taken off in a single engine aircraft from a private air field at approximately 12 p.m. and had not returned. A search of the area near the private air field was conducted and the single engine plane was located a short distance from the airfield, about 6.9 miles west of Blackwell in Nolan County. Mr.

Residents of Nolan Nursing and Rehab enjoyed the hospitality and an outing at a back yard flower garden of the Sweetwater home of Joe and Lisa Seals recently.
Refreshments and fellowship were enjoyed by all. Daisey, the Seals Family pet was also a gracious host and was happy to assist with the tour.
Among the favorite flowers were morning glories, zinnias and various potted plants. The residents of Nolan enjoyed the butterflies as they fluttered from flower to flower.

SWEETWATER â€” The Texas Well Owner Network is hosting a water well screening from 8:30-10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office (Courthouse) for Nolan County at 100 E. 3rd Street, Suite 305 in Sweetwater to give area residents the opportunity to have their well water tested.
A meeting explaining screening results will be held at 7 p.m. on July 31, also at the AgriLife Extension office.
The screening is presented by AgriLife Extension and Texas Water Resources Institute in partnership with Nolan County AgriLife Extension.
