Caleb Thompson received a surprise visit from State Representative Susan King recently.Â She presented him with aÂ Texas flag that had been flown over the State Capitol in Austin.Â This flag was presented to Caleb forÂ inspiringÂ those around him and in recognition of hisÂ extraordinaryÂ advocacyÂ work on behalf of Texans with disabilities.
HERMLEIGH â With one quarter left in Fridayâs Class 1A, Division II regional playoff, Blackwell held a 46-40 lead. But Sands out-scored Blackwell 32-14 in the fourth quarter to claim a 72-60 win.

Ever since cell phones, social media networks and email became fixtures in most of our lives, scams and the con men behind them have grown prevalent, too.
There is a vast array of online fraud, but some scams in particular are being noticed by local banks. The most commonly seen as of late, according to bank officials, run the gamut from attempts to gather personal information to commit identity theft to false promises of companionship.
The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce and local retailers are working together to celebrate âSWEET SATURDAYâ on Saturday, Nov. 29 in conjunction with the nationally recognized âSmall Business Saturday.â
"Forget Black Friday battles and skip the huge stores and long lines. Shop in our area small businesses," says Chamber Executive Vice President Leah Andrews.
