Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD), located at 301 E.12th, would like to offer some summer health tips to the public:
1. Drink plenty of water; your body needs it to prevent dehydration during warm summer days. Take bottles of water with you, if you're going out for any length of time. Remember, infants and toddlers can become dehydrated much more easily than adults, so be sure they get lots of liquids.

The Teen Book Club also purchased the movie license and television for library use.
The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Best Western, located at 300 NW Georgia Ave.
The Best Western is owned by Dipal Patel and is operated by Tanya Actell. The hotel was founded in 2007 by West Lone Star LTD and employs 17 people. Best Western has won several awards, including Best Western Director's Award in 2012, Best Western Companion Award in 2013 and the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2013 and 2014.
Funeral services for Carl Roy Smith, Jr., 38, will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Bull Dog Stadium in Miles. A private burial will follow. Adams and Starks Funeral Home of San Angelo is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Smith died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Shannon Medical Center.
Survivors include his grandfather, Clarence Cockrell of Hempstead; mother, Patricia Lynn Smith and wife, Leigh Ann Smith, both of Sweetwater; son, Austin Smith; daughters, Lillian Smith of Ballinger and Gloria Brianne Richmond of Huffman; and a sister, Trisha Smith of Sweetwater.
Andrea Melendrez, age 80, of Sweetwater, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
As per her wishes, her body was cremated. A rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Holy Spirit Parish (Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church).
Andrea was born on Nov. 30, 1933, in Sweetwater to Jose and Angela (Rosas) Gomez. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish (Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church). She was a homemaker.
Marshall Bryan Lister, age 51, of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Shannon Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Slaterâ€™s Chapel Cemetery in Nolan, with Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Marshall was born on June 22, 1963 in Sweetwater to John Marvin and Sharlene Mae (Porter) Lister. He was a Baptist.
Betty Lois Brazelton, age 73, of Trent, passed away on June 28, 2014 at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Trent United Methodist Church with Pastor Glenda Pearl West officiating. Burial will follow at Newman Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

After a disappointing day that saw all three local teams in action lose on Monday, Sweetwaterâ€™s Junior League (ages 13-14) all-stars are suddenly the only survivor in District 5 Little League tournament baseball action in Abilene.
Today, July 1 kicks off a three-day Mustang Junior Golf Clinic at the Sweetwater Country Club for ages 5 and up. The clinic will run Tuesday through Thursday, July 1-3.
Sessions are from 9-11 a.m. each day. A fee will be charged, but family discounts are available.
