Wylie will be Sweetwaterâ€™s opponent in todayâ€™s 7 p.m. Junior League (ages 13-14) losers bracket final played at Wylieâ€™s Kirby Park.
The winner of todayâ€™s contest plays for the title at the same location Thursday, also beginning at 7 p.m., against Abilene South â€” which beat Sweetwater 6-5 to reach the title game when the teams met in the semi-finals on Monday.
Sweetwater will be taking on three other teams in its pool when it plays July 10-11 at the Division II state 7-on-7 championships at College Station, which has a 64-team field.
The Summer Reading Program, FIZZ, BOOM, READ, will continue at the County-City Library today, July 2, at 10 a.m.
The library is excited about their â€śScience Rocksâ€ť program, which includes cool experiments and a fun activity. If you have not picked up a reading log for your child, there will be some available at the front desk.
Logs will be due Friday, July 11. For more information, call 235-4978.

The local Texas State Technical College Phi Theta Kappa chapter is sponsoring an annual Back to School Supply drive for Sweetwater Independent School District throughout the summer. Common supplies needed include:
â€˘ Box of quart sized plastic resealable bags;
â€˘ Box of gallon sized plastic resealable bags;
â€˘ Package of wide rule paper-150 count;
â€˘ 10 count package of #2 pencils;
â€˘ Box of 200 count Kleenex tissues;

Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department (SNCHD), located at 301 E.12th, would like to offer some summer health tips to the public:
1. Drink plenty of water; your body needs it to prevent dehydration during warm summer days. Take bottles of water with you, if you're going out for any length of time. Remember, infants and toddlers can become dehydrated much more easily than adults, so be sure they get lots of liquids.

The Teen Book Club also purchased the movie license and television for library use.
The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Best Western, located at 300 NW Georgia Ave.
The Best Western is owned by Dipal Patel and is operated by Tanya Actell. The hotel was founded in 2007 by West Lone Star LTD and employs 17 people. Best Western has won several awards, including Best Western Director's Award in 2012, Best Western Companion Award in 2013 and the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2013 and 2014.
Funeral services for Carl Roy Smith, Jr., 38, will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Bull Dog Stadium in Miles. A private burial will follow. Adams and Starks Funeral Home of San Angelo is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Smith died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Shannon Medical Center.
Survivors include his grandfather, Clarence Cockrell of Hempstead; mother, Patricia Lynn Smith and wife, Leigh Ann Smith, both of Sweetwater; son, Austin Smith; daughters, Lillian Smith of Ballinger and Gloria Brianne Richmond of Huffman; and a sister, Trisha Smith of Sweetwater.
