Bobbie Null, age 78 of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June l8, 2013 at Avondale Baptist Church with Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
William Leonard Woodward, Sr., “Woody” passed away on June 14, just before midnight. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 15, 1931 and was named after the Sweet William flowers that bloomed outside of his home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Mary Woodward (born Brunner); his father Harry Woodward; brothers Ernest, John, Danny and Ralph; and sisters Flora, Mable and Fanny.
SWEETWATER
A Mustang Tennis Camp will be held June 17-21 at the Sweetwater Middle School tennis courts for students entering grades 3-9. Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon each day.
The cost is $30 without getting a camp T-shirt and $40 with a camp T-shirt.
A Mustang Baseball Camp will be held June 17-20 at Sportsman’s Park. The first session for students entering grades 1-5 will be from 9-10:15 a.m. each day while the second session for students entering grade 6-9 is from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Walkups will be accepted the day of the camp.
Sweetwater will have four Little League all-star teams competing in District 5 tournaments later this month.
A pre-tournament meet-ing will be held Wednesday to announce the tournament sites and schedule, with play scheduled to begin June 24 and run through July 5.
Sweetwater’s 9-10 year-old Little League all-stars are Harrison Foster, Logan Cornutt, Hector Medina, Cooper Hrbacek, Ricky Dela-paz, Jacob Roden, Jonathan Gallegos, Ector Martinez Jr., Braxton Gomez, Ethan Cortez, Skyler Painter and Jacob Cantu.

The 10th Annual Girl Scout Service Unit Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, June 15 at the Lion's Club building, located on the corner of Lamar and Arizona, from 8 to 11 a.m. All proceeds will go to the Girl Scouts of Texas-Oklahoma Plains: Sweetwater Girl Scout Service unit.
The Sweetwater VFW will be having a dance on Friday, June 14 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Entertainment will be provided by Dusty Creek, featuring traditional country music on the dance floor. Call 235-8105 for prices or for more information.
Trinity Baptist Church, located at 1503 Crescent Drive, will have their Vacation Bible School Monday, June 17 through Wednesday, June 19, from 1-4 p.m. each day. The theme is "Kingdom Rock," and is for students in first through sixth grades. On Wednesday there will be a finale celebration from 4-6 p.m. with a water slide and hot dogs.
