Deep Creek Art Festival set for May 8-9

The Deep Creek Art Festival is a juried art show and sale hosting area artists. The Festival will be held at the Scurry County Coliseum, 900 E Coliseum Blvd. on May 8-9.
The invitation only Patron’s Preview is Friday, May 8th from 5-6 pm. The Festival is open to the public Friday 6 - 9 pm. and Saturday 10 am- 4 pm.

Members of the clinical document improvement (CDI) project team were recently invited to speak at the Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. (CPSI) National Conference in Sandestin, Fla., April 14-17. The team spoke on their success of implementing clinical documentation improvement.

SW getting best-of-3 rematch with Pampa

Two years ago when a history-making Sweetwater softball team last made it to the playoffs, the Lady Mustangs lost 5-0 to Pampa at Lubbock Coronado High School in the second round in a one-game matchup.
Today, with a lineup that has five players from the 2013 team, Sweetwater returns to the same location to face Pampa in a first-round playoff — only this time with a best-of-3 setup. Game 2 — and Game 3, if necessary — will also be held at Lubbock Coronado. The eventual winner faces Fort Stockton or San Elizar-io in the second round.

‘Stangs receive the No. 2 seed

Sweetwater’s baseball team will be the No. 2 seed from District 2-4A entering this year’s playoffs after finishing in a tie with Big Spring for first place at the end of the regular season. The teams held a coin flip at Wednesday’s district meeting, rather than having a one-game playoff, in order to decide seeding after finishing 8-2 in district. Sweetwater’s bi-district foe will be the third-place team in District 1-4A.

Today will be sunny with a high near 82. Winds will be from the south-southwest around 10 mph, becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Expect mostly clear conditions tonight, with a low around 56 and southeastern winds around 10 mph.
This weekend, we'll see highs in the mid 80s with lows in the upper 50s/lower 60s. Winds will gradually increase throughout Saturday and Sunday, with gusts as high as 25 mph on Sunday evening.
