Sweetwater Animal Control currently has three dogs available for adoption.
Available for adoption is a female chihuahua mix, a male Pomeranian mix and a male chihuahua mix. According to Sweetwaterâs animal control officer, Don Kite, animals that are picked up are kept for a minimum of three days, but he tries to keep them from a week to 10 days.
Dogs and cats are available for adoption for a $15 fee and the cost of getting the pet vaccinated for rabies.
The pets are required to have their vaccination before they leave to their new homes.

Marianne K. Palacios, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at her residence.

Loraine â Mr. Isaiah âIkeâ Williams, age 76, of Loraine, died Monday morning in an Abilene Hospice. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in Colorado City with Revs. Kenneth Burns and Robert Carey officiating. Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Bobby Neil Haney, 78, of Imperial, Calif. passed away on Nov. 8, 2012 of a cerebral hemorrhage.
A viewing was held from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2012 at Frye Chapel in Brawley, Calif.Â Memorial services were held at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Brawley.Â Burial will be held with military honors at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Riverview Cemetery.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 44 calls for service, issued five citations and made no arrests on Nov. 12, 2012.

The Sweetwater seventh grade Red football team completed a perfect 8-0 season this past Thursday when they traveled to Wylie and came back with a 22-0 win.
Sweetwater got scoring runs of 23 yards by Michael Green, 5 yards by Chris Thompson and 9 yards by Kobe Clark, and Green and Thompson had two-point runs.
Other offensive standouts were Kiante McCoy, Mason Maxwell, Taylor Turney, Jonathan Castillo, Ky Hoover and Andrew Melendez. Thompson (kickoff fumble recovery), Devin Brown, Trenton Hicks, Daniel Avila and Isak Alvarez were defensive standouts.

The West Texas Art Guild is presenting "A Return to the Big Country Art Show" on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Colorado City Civic Center, located at 157 West Second Street in Colorado City.
Guests are invited to bring their art work and spend the day enjoying an art demonstration by Leada Woods of Colorado City. In addition, attendees can tour the city's museum and walk through the "Railhead Days" arts and crafts displays. At the end of the day, everyone may pick up their work.
