Mustangs seek revenge vs. the Loboes

April 15, 2014

The District 4-3A playoff picture is unsettled, but a win today at home would help the Sweetwater baseball team’s chances of making the postseason.
And avenging a 7-3 loss on March 25 when Sweet-water played at Monahans would be nice, too.
Wylie (6-1) has a one-game lead over Big Spring with Sweetwater and Mona-hans (3-4) tied for fourth with three games left, one game behind Snyder (4-3). The top four teams will ad-vance to the playoffs.

SW’s Hunt is 4 out of lead at 1-3A event

April 15, 2014

Sweetwater’s Michael Hunt has a shot at a state tournament medalist berth after an opening 75 Mon-day at the Region I-3A tour-nament in Lubbock.
He trails Andrews’ G.K. Morrison (71) by four shots at the Shadow Hills Golf Course and is tied for sev-enth place entering today’s final round. The top three individuals not on one of the top three teams will go to the state meet in Austin as medalists April 28-29, and Hunt would advance to the state meet in his current position.
