The Sweetwater baseball team has been doing a lot of things right since district play began. The Mustangs are now 3-0 after Tuesday’s 11-1 victory over Monahans.

Sweetwater leads Big Spring — which shut out Greenwood 10-0 — Wylie and Snyder by a game as all of those teams are 2-1 in the district while Greenwood and Monahans are 0-3.
But there are still seven games left, and the Mus-tangs’ hold on first place is about to get a severe test.
Sweetwater did its part on Tuesday to remain in the thick of the District 4-3A softball chase, defeating Monahans 6-2 at the Jerry Collins Complex.
And with an assist from Big Spring, the Lady Mus-tangs are now in a three-way tie for the district lead.
Big Spring threw the 4-3A race into chaos by beating Greenwood 3-1, while Sny-der was a 15-0 winner over last-place Wylie. Sweetwa-ter, Greenwood and Snyder are now all 3-1, just ahead of 2-2 Big Spring with six games left to play.
