The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 46 calls for service, issued no citations and made two arrests on April 5, 2011.
The SPD received 18, 911 calls.

The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had four calls for service, served two civil papers and made two arrests on April 5, 2011.

Westbrook â William Dalton Conaway Jr., 76, of Westbrook, TX, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Westbrook Church of Christ in Westbrook, TX. Denny Wilson will be officiating services. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Amado âBuckâ Lopez, 74, of Roscoe, was born to Juan and Carmen Lopez on Sept. 13, 1936, in Shiro, Texas.
He died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at St. Johnâs Catholic Church in Hondo, TX with Father Ken officiating. Interment will follow at Hondo Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

Sweetwater High Schoolâs golf teams are in strong contention for regional berths after completing the second 18-hole leg of their 54-hole tournaments.
The SHS girls are still in second place through two rounds of their District 5-3A tournament, which began last week at Sweetwater Country Club and continued Tuesday at Abileneâs Maxwell Golf Course with Wylie as host team.
Sweetwater shot 363, giving it a 733 total with one round to play and increasing its margin to 27 strokes over Wylie, which is third with a 760 total.
April 6th
Around 5 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 32nd District Court Judge Glen Harrison denied the request for a temporary injunction of residents from Oak Creek Reservoir and Lake Sweetwater to stop the City of Sweetwater's implementation of the new lease agreement.
A packed courtroom of residents â with even some hallway overflow â attended the nearly three-and-a-half hour hearing held at the Nolan County Courthouse. Leading the cause was Clarence Brockett, Jr., an attorney from Midland who also is a recent lake property owner.
In 2010 Goodwill Industries was awarded their first grant funding for veteran's assistance. Other funding for veteransâ assistance is supported by proceeds from the sale of $2 Veterans Cash scratch-off lottery tickets. This in itself has helped many veterans in so many ways.
Goodwill Industries of West Texas helps support veterans from young to old. Those who have served our country now have support that was well past due.
