The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 49 calls for service, issued nine citations and made one arrest on June 4, 2012.

W.T. â€śDubâ€ť Johnson, 85, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Abilene Regional Hospital in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Sweetwater, officiated by Rev. Brian Brownlow. Interment will follow at the Hamlin Memorial Cemetery in Hamlin, Texas. A visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Pallbearers at the service will be Jake Johnson, Justin Johnson, Gary Wiseman, Mike Fernandez, Bill Shuttleworth, Steven Snell and Will Snell.
Eileen Morrow passed away in San Antonio on Monday, June 4, 2012, at the age of 87. She was born in Maryneal, Texas on Oct. 26, 1924, to Ben and Willie Ham.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Imogene Parker; and her son-in-law, Jerry Pickar.
Eileen worked for Atlantic Richfield/BP Oil Company in Midland for 37 years. She loved to line dance and even taught senior citizen classes. She also enjoyed gardening the land surrounding her home.
Graveside services for Wynell V. Banks, 86, of Jackson, MS, will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Hopewell Baptist Cemetery near McCool, MS, with Larry Vanlandingham officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hopewell Cemetery.

Banks died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Nursing Home in Jackson, MS.
She was born April 12, 1926, in Mississippi. She was a housewife.

The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Advantage Office Products, located at 1116 E. Broadway.
Advantage Office Products is owned by Advantage Office Products, LLC, with Erin Gomez as the store's manager. Advantage is a full service office supply and furniture store.
The store was founded in May of 2005 by Stewart Spencer and Dennis George and serves Nolan and surrounding counties. Advantage opened in May of 2006 in Sweetwater and is the second Advantage Office Products store to open.
Many area residents showed their appreciation and support on Sunday, June 3, 2012, for Kenneth Dudensing, longtime Sweetwater FFA Agriculture Science teacher.
After almost four decades with Sweetwater Independent School District â€” 39 years â€” Dudensing is retiring. He has taught everything from welding in shop class, to hunter safety in wildlife management class, to animal protein requirements in advanced animal science class. He has even been a math tutor for students that have struggled with their math TAKS tests.
