One person was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 in Nolan County. The crash occurred around 5 a.m. on Interstate 20, 2/10 of a mile east of mile marker 242 in Nolan County.
Michael Norris Creek 63, of Abilene was taken to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater. He was pronounced dead at 6:50 a.m. by Doctor Lufkin Moses. His body was taken to the Hamil Funeral Home in Abilene. The next of kin have been notified.

SISD (Sweetwater Independent School District) was able to make this happen thanks to a $99,040 technology grant, which was obtained following an application submitted by Mike Marlett, the district's Director of Educational Technology.
Andrew Davis is the Football Player of the Week for Sweetwater. Davis, a 270-pound junior starter on the offensive line, had nine pancake blocks last week against Wall.

SNYDER â€” Sweetwater got its first District 4-3A volleyball win by beating Snyder in four games Tues-day. The Lady Mustangs won by scores of 29-27, 25-15, 22-25, 25-17 as they improved to 1-1 in district and 21-11 overall while Sny-der fell to 0-2, 21-10.
Sweetwater had several top individual performan-ces. Kendra Crosson led the team with 17 kills and also finished with 20 digs to share team honors with her sister Kelsi Crosson. The latter also had 13 kills while Kathleen Campbell and Shelby Cason had 11 and 10 kills, respectively, for the Lady Mustangs.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 49 calls for service, issued no citations and made three arrests on Sept. 25, 2012.
The SPD received 24, 911 calls.
