Caribbean Pork Kabobs
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 to 15 minutes
1/2 cup pineapple juice
3 tablespoons Mrs. DashÂ® Caribbean Citrus Seasoning Blend, divided
1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into small cubes
1 sweet onion, cut into cubes
1 red bell pepper, cut into cubes
1/2 fresh pineapple, peeled, cut into cubes
Mix pineapple juice and 2 tablespoons seasoning blend in a small bowl.
Pour 3/8 cup (6 tablespoons) of the pineapple juice mixÂture over the pork in a separate bowl and the remaining over the vegetables. Stir to coat evenly.
National Grandparents Day was on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, this year and to honor grandparents, Sweetwater Independent School District hosts special lunches at different schools where grandparents eat with their grandchildren.

Texas State Technical College West Texas has been named to the coveted Military Friendly Schools list for the third straight year. The 2013 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace Americaâs military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

According to Sweetwater Chief of Police Brian Frieda, a man has been identified as a suspect in the shooting that took place at Apple Creek Apartments on Grand Avenue in Sweetwater earlier this month. "We have not beenÂ successful in locating this individual.
Nolan County has recently seen some rainfall in the area.
On Sept. 15-16, 2012, Oak Creek received 0.20 inches of rain, Lake Trammell received 0.23 inches of rain and Lake Sweetwater received 0.23 inches of rain. For 2012, Oak Creek has received 17.21 inches of rain, while Lake Trammell has received 17.73 inches of rain and Lake Sweetwater has received 17.59 inches of rain.
The filter plant received 0.22 inches of rain with its total for the year at 15.44 inches of rain.
Booster B has received 16.14 inches of rain for the year, with 0.25 of those inches this past week.
During the SISD (Sweetwater Independent School District) Board of Trustees' meeting on Monday night, September 17, an update was given on the iPad initiative within the district.
Recently, due to a grant obtained by the district Director of Educational Technology, Mike Marlett, the seventh graders will be the next class to have iPads for their studies--almost a year ahead of the district's timeline.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 66 calls for service, issued six citations and made three arrests on Sept. 17, 2012.

The Sweetwater volleyball team reached the 20-win plateau by defeating Miles in a three-game sweep here Tuesday night. But the real fun for the Lady Mustangs â the start of District 4-3A play â doesnât begin until Saturday when state-ranked Monahans comes to Mustang Gym.
Against Miles, which is a state-ranked Class A team, Sweetwater won by scores of 25-17, 27-25, 25-20 to improve to 20-10 â its first 20-win season since the Lady Mustangsâ last playoff appearance four years ago.
Kaegan Jeffrey is the Football Player of the Week for Sweetwater. The 200-pound sophomore quarterback was 17-of-22 passing for 227 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 49 yards and a TD on 7 carries in a win over Breckenridge.
