Seferino Portello Carrillo, age 70, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at his residence.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Belvieu Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Guest speaker will be Pennie Montgomery from Spring, TX.
Pennie has been a Bible study teacher and prayer group leader for many years. In 1990, she became the Texas State Prayer Coordinator for Aglow International. Since that time she has traveled over the state teaching and ministering to the women of Aglow. Pennie also serves on the Aglow Global Prayer Council.
While most of Texas was grilling barbecue and splashing in the pool on Memorial Day, seven outstanding student musicians from the Sweetwater High School Band were participating in the UIL State Solo Contest. The competitors, along with accompanist Bonnie Walters, chaperones Riley and Judith Kitchens, and director Ross Grant, traveled to Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, where the top musicians from across Texas performed for judges.
Shaun Hamilton--one of the original jump rope boys from Philip Nolan and former SHS athlete--returned to Sweetwater with his wife Felicia on Monday, May 21 for two events held for students within the Sweetwater school district.
The Hamiltons first took part as keynote speakers in the "Female Force" student workshop for all 8th through 12th girls on Monday morning at the Center in the local TSTC West Texas Campus.
For the past 39 years the same passionate and caring man has been the face of Sweetwater FFA. Kenneth Dudensing has impacted a countless number of Sweetwater Independent School District students starting in the eighth grade and continuing with them all the way through the 12th grade. He has finally decided to hang up his welding helmet, frock and clippers. After almost four decades with Sweetwater Independent School District, Kenneth will be retiring.
A memorial service for Karla Epperson, 59, of Oak Creek Lake, Blackwell, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Brother Larry Fluitt officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Epperson died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo.
She was born on July 25, 1952 in Sweetwater. She married Rex Epperson on May 16, 1994 in Sweetwater. She had worked for Sweetwater Healthcare and Bronte Nursing Home as an LVN.

Six Sweetwater teams end their season at area District 5 Little League tournaments starting Monday.
The Dodgers, who won the Minor League for ages 9-10, play Wylie No. 3 at 8 p.m. Monday at Abilene Dixie while the RiverDogs, the Minor League runner-ups, play the Snyder Cubs at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wylie.
Sweetwaterâ€™s two repres-entatives for Major League (11-12) were to be decided on Friday. The No. 1 team plays Abilene Southernâ€™s Yankees at 8 p.m. Monday at Snyder. The No. 2 team plays Snyderâ€™s Braves with their first game slated to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Snyder.
Lady Mustang Bas-ketball Camp: June 4-7 at Sweetwater Middle School gym for students completing grades 2-8. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost: $35 which includes T-shirt.
The 4th Annual df Ranch Triathlon will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Lake Sweetwater public boat ramp, located at 326 FM 2035. The event will start at 7:30 a.m. and will be the USA Triathlon Texas State Sprint Championships.
The triathlon will be a timed race that includes a 500-meter swim in the lake, 14 mile bike on a rolling hills course on FM 2035 and a 3.1-mile run on County Road 252.
