Local events scheduled this weekend

Tomorrow, July 25, Mike Hart, 4-H archery coach, will have a class from 10 a.m. to noon on FM 419 (Oil Mill Road) and CR 271, across from Cholla Petroleum.
Also, the Sweetwater Jaycees will host their Family Day. Swimming will be from 1-6 p.m. at the City Pool and they will serve dinner in the park.
There will also be Jaycees from other chapters joining in on the activities. Jaycees, Roosters and Jayteens and their families are invited to attend.
The Second Annual Sweetwater Car Show will be held at Newman Park from 2 to 6 p.m. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be sold.

In 1984, Home Economics Cooperative Education was taught by Mrs. Rowland and Lori Kinney and Trudy Gotcher represented HECE as Vice President and Treasurer respectively. Both of these ladies are still in Sweetwater and looking forward to the 30th reunion of the Class of 1985, September 4 and 5 this year. Lori Kinsey is a paralegal at Wetsel and Carmichael and Trudy Bennett is the owner of Building Blocks daycare.

Camp indicates football season is near

There was competition at Mustang Bowl on Tuesday at the end of the first day of a three-day football camp led by Sweetwater’s coaching staff. It was a reminder that the real thing starts in a few weeks, as Sweetwater’s first scrimmage is here on Aug. 14. The first practices are scheduled to begin on Aug. 3.
