A traffic accident in western Taylor County closed Interstate 20 for a few minutes this morning.
The driver of a pickup pulling a trailer lost control and flipped over.
The trailer was disconnected and blocked the freeway. There were no serious injuries reported, but the accident slowed traffic until the emergency crews could get the debris removed from the busy highway.
It happened this morning near Trent, just east of the Nolan County line.
Seven guilty pleas were entered to Judge Glen Harrison with District Attorney Ann Reed and Assistant District Attorney Barrett Thomas prosecuting the cases, during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011.

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, according to the Center for Disease Control. In recognition of National Diabetes Month this November, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (RPMH) would like to educate the community on the importance of diabetes screenings and treatment.
âThere are 20.8 million Americans living with diabetes,â said Dr. Robert Eaker at RPMH. âNearly one third of them are unaware they have the disease and we want to lower that number.â

There will be no residential refuse service on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25 in order for city employees to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with their families. All residential containers will be serviced during the remainder of the holiday week. The landfill and citizens drop-off center will be closed on those two days. All hand pick-up customers and roll-out kart service will be serviced on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
Commercial refuse customers will run commercial Friday, Nov. 25. The Thursday, Nov. 24, customers will be services on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Leandra Saavedra, 68, of Roscoe, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Charles Okonkwo officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary was held at McCoy Chapel of Memories at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater, recited by Connie Palacios and Pauline Gauna.
Saavedra died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Georgia Jane Moorman was born on Sept. 28, 1940, in Sweetwater, Texas and raised on her parentâs farm near the community of Nolan, Texas. She passed away on Nov. 19, 2011, in Conroe, Texas, at 71.
Jane graduated from Divide High School (graduating class of six), received a Bachelorâs Degree from Texas Tech and a Masterâs Degree from Texas A&M University (enrolled the second year female students were permitted to attend).
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Patricia Ann Ellis, age 78, of Midland, Texas (former resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Garden of Memories in Sweetwater, Texas with Pastor Billy Raies officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Billy Ray Hanks, 74, of Sweetwater, quietly went to be with his Savior at Nolan Nursing and Rehab, Sunday, 20 November 2011. A private Thanksgiving celebration of his life for his selfless contributions and devotion to his family will be held at his home.
Billy was born in Nolan, Texas, on Feb. 16, 1937, to Maynor Benjamin and Lila Louellen Hanks. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. He was married to his lovely wife Barbara Jean, on Aug. 26, 1966, and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
