A Mustang Basketball Camp is set for June 6-9 at the Sweetwater High School gym, and has two sessions. The registration deadline will be May 31.
Students completing grades 3-5 will attend from 9-11 a.m. each day, while grades 6-8 will attend from 1-3 p.m. The fee is $30. Each camper must sign a release form and show proof of insurance. Participants will receive a camp T-shirt and basketball. Water will be provided, but campers can bring a sports drink.

An early morning fire consumed four apartments at the Jack Lambert complex in Sweetwater on Sunday morning. Electrical problems in one of the center apartments was said to be the cause of the blaze, according to Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant Madden. The fire began at about 3 a.m. on Sunday and Sweetwater firefighters continued to battle the fire until around noon. Four people were out of the apartments upon arrival of the Sweetwater Fire Department and firefighters made entrance and saved one dog.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office is asking for the communityâ€™s help tracking down a missing 40 year old who wandered away from his parentsâ€™ home and may be disoriented.
Doyle Lee Parsons left a home on Country Road 181 about 10 miles North of Blackwell. He was last seen by his father around 8 p.m. Saturday evening.
It's believed he may be disoriented due to a recent medication change. He's not considered violent or dangerous.
Ground broke last week on a new apartment complex being built near Southeast Elementary School called Mustang Heights Apartments. It is a proposed multi-family residential rental community to be located at East Arizona Avenue and I-20 Frontage Road. The development will be comprised of 80 units on 7.59 acres.
AUSTIN â€” Roscoeâ€™s Caden Smith won his second silver medal in as many days Saturday at the UIL track and field championships with a throw of 54-5 1/2 in the Class 1A boys shot put.
Smith, a senior, also captured a second-place silver medal Friday in the boys discus with a throw of 167-7. He finishes his high school career with four state medals, including the third-place bronze medals he won in the discus and shot put in 2009.

AUSTIN â€” All three state qualifiers from Nolan County earned medals at the UIL high school track and field championships Friday, and one of them â€” Jayci Shelton of Sweetwater â€” medaled in both of her events.
AUSTIN â€” Ryan Mercer of Sweetwater became the third member of his family to win all-state honors after completing his final round with a 149 total on Friday at the Class 3A boys golf tournament.
A Lady Mustang Bas-ketball Camp for students completing grades 1-7 will be held June 6-9 at the Sweetwater Middle School gym.
Times for the camp are from 9-11:30 a.m. all four days. The cost will be $35 and pre-registration is greatly appreciated. A concession stand will be available. The goal of the camp is to improve playersâ€™ skills in basketball through instruction in individual skills and fun team competitions.
